Biomedical Engineering Technologist/Technician Certification Program
Under the administration of the Canadian Board of Examiners for Biomedical Engineering and Dialysis Technologists and Technicians.
- Certification Examinations are arranged on an as needed basis. Examination proctors are engaged at a location close to the candidate’s home, or work. The time and date of an examination is negotiated between the candidate and the proctor.
- The BMET examination is divided into two parts, the first section is a multiple choice format that covers 5 sections and the second section contains essay questions pertaining to the practice and organizational management of Biomedical Engineering Programs.
- A Study Guide is available that includes a suggested reading list and sample examination questions. The sample examination covers all sections of the typical exam and allows the prospective candidate to get a feel for the style and types of questions that would be included in the real examination.

Note: The prerequisite in Canada to becomes a Certified Biomedical Engineering Technologist/Technician is that you must be registered as with your Provincial Technology Association as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET), Applied Science Technologist (AScT), or Certified Technician (CTech).
